BSCA Regional Cross Champs March 3rd

Kirklees Cycling Academy promoted the British Schools Regional Cyclo-Cross Championships at Spen Valley Sports College on Sunday. Cyclo-Cross is a winter sport so it was quite appropriate for the weather to be cold & wet which made it extremely tough for the 67 riders that competed.

In the Under 9 Girls race Ella Hampson (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) was an impressive 3rd place.

The Under 11s race was a hotly contested affair with Pedalsport rider Matt Taylor getting the win closely followed by club mate Jenson Young, Holme Valley Wheeler Jim Brown completed the podium positions in 3rd, Ruby Boyes was 3rd Girl.

Isaac Shepherd (Holme Valley Wheelers) was 3rd in the Under 13s which was dominated by Jamie Ridehalgh who led from start to finish, Felicity Gledhill (Planet X) from Shepley was 1st Girl across the line & Tilly Brown (Holme Valley Wheelers) was 2nd in her first ever Cyclo-Cross race.
